Brenda is the founding principal of Izen Architecture, an all-female firm based in Toronto, specializing in modern residential design that is bold, boundary pushing and highly individual. The foundation of her practice is based on the firm belief that a great home leads to a better life.
Since establishing the studio in 2015, she has led projects that explore material precision, spatial clarity, and the relationship between architecture, interiors, and landscape. Brenda combines conceptual design with a deep understanding of construction, fabrication, and building science. Her work is characterized by restrained forms, carefully crafted detailing, and a strong emphasis on light, proportion, and material expression.
Brenda is an advocate for advancing the profession through mentorship, leadership, and community engagement. She is a member of the Ontario Association of Architects and the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada, has mentored emerging architects through the OAA, and serves as Chair of the Board of Kehilla Affordable Housing, where she helps guide the development of affordable housing initiatives across the GTA.
