  • Standard Shop 145 Tecumseth Street Toronto, ON, M6J 2H5 Canada (map)

Join BEAToronto in a Kitchen Party-style dinner with co-founders Liz Wreford and Peter Sampson of Public City Architecture!

We’ll learn about Liz and Peter’s public realm-focused practice, then mix and mingle over delicious dim sum platters from local go-to Juicy Dumpling. BEAToronto believes that every conversation counts, and works to create inviting contexts that foster open dialogue.

The gathering is hosted in lighting agency and dealer Standard Shop’s beautiful King West showroom.

Drinks sponsored by GROHE, in support of the design and architecture community.

About Liz Wreford and Peter Sampson:

Liz Wreford and Peter Sampson are co-founders of Public City, an interdisciplinary architecture and landscape architecture practice based in Winnipeg with work across Canada. The studio focuses on social infrastructure and the public realm, exploring how architecture and landscape architecture can support more inclusive, resilient, and meaningful public life.

Liz Wreford is the Principal Landscape Architect whose work advances the role of landscape architecture in shaping equitable and culturally meaningful public spaces. She is currently leading the design and construction of Canada’s 2SLGBTQI+ National Monument in Ottawa, opening in 2026.

Peter Sampson is the Principal Architect whose work connects architecture, cultural programming, and civic life through projects ranging from community arts centres to transitional housing.

Together, they have developed award-winning projects across Canada that explore the relationship between architecture, landscape architecture, and the public city.

Thank you to BEAToronto’s sponsors, whose support makes our programming possible!
