Programming Assistant

Treya Vyas (she/they) is an Indian-Canadian architectural designer currently pursuing a Master of Architecture at the University of Toronto, Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape and Design. Previously, they worked as an architectural graduate at BDP Quadrangle in Toronto, contributing to Retail projects of varying scales and participating in all phases of the design process, from design development through occupancy. Treya is also a WELL Accredited Professional (2022-2023), conducting research and developing presentations highlighting the benefits and impact of the certification. 

Treya also completed their undergraduate degree in Bachelors of Architectural Science, from Toronto Metropolitan University, where they were a recipient of the Jasong Fung Architect Diversity Award. During their undergraduate studies, Treya led several department and faculty-level initiatives and participated in university wide discussions on institutional change. 

A strong advocate for equity, diversity and inclusion in design, Treya currently serves as a Programming Assistant at BEAT (Building Equality in Architecture, Toronto), supporting the organization’s wide range of initiatives. They also volunteer as an outreach coordinator with SOSA (Society of South Asian Architects), and a casual volunteer with the TSA (Toronto Society of Architects). Within the University of Toronto, Treya represents the Master of Architecture program as the CASA student representative, engaging in dialogue with advocacy at the international level on behalf of the university community.
